A Presentation On Role And Activities Of Planning & Development Department

To highlight the role and functions of Planning & Development department in relation to economic planning and development programmes in the state, a presentation was held on 25th March 2012 in the Central Hall of the State Assembly before the Hon’ble Members of Assam Legislative Assembly.  Organised  at the initiative of  P & D,  an attempt was made to acquaint the members with the guidelines, procedures and other related issues pertaining to the development schemes taken up by the department through its divisions viz. Plan Coordination, Decentralised Planning, Evaluation & Monitoring, Perspective Planning(NLCPR), NEC, PPP etc.  In his welcome address Minster, P & D apprised the participants about the initiatives of the department vis a vis the schemes/projects for overall development of the state.  Initiating the power point presentation Principal Secretary appealed to the participants to avail the occasion to acquaint themselves with the planning process and development activities in the state and role of P & D by way of sharing necessary information /feedback with heads of divisions and other senior officers of the department.  All the heads of divisions elaborately presented the status and of their respective divisions/cell and replied to the queries of members present. Secretary P & D discussed about the Flag ship programmes and Bharat Nirman initiatives and replied  to the queries of the participants about the   required formalities of the entire plan process.  All the participants were provided with a booklet containing guidelines on schemes viz. MLA AD, Untied Fund, Kalpataru and Gyanjyoti
