The scheme was introduced in 2004-05 with a view to provide awareness through educational excursion in different places both inside and outside the State among the school students from Class VIII to X, particularly from rural areas of the State. Kamrup (M) and Jorhat are made Nodal Districts, who implement this scheme. The scheme is implemented once in a year.
During the year 2020-21 budget provision was Rs. 300.00 lakh but the scheme could not be implemented due to COVID-19 pandemic.
