Events on SDGs

  1. An Orientation Workshop on SDGs was held on 5th January’2016 at AASC to make aware about SDGs.
  2. A Partnership Conference on SDGs was held on 10th and 11th February’2016 at AASC, Khanapara, Guwahati wherein representatives of Civil Society, Industry, Corporate Sector, Consultancy Services, Agencies and academia were present and Prof. Jeffery Sachs, Advisor to Secretary General, UN Assembly also participated in the Conference through Video Conferencing. The draft Vision Document was also released in the Conference.
  3. A two days Workshop on Technology Platform was organised at AASC on 16th and 17th May’2016 wherein Shri. J. Satyanarayan, IAS (Retd), formerly Secretary to the Govt. of India and now Advisor to Govt.of Andhra Pradesh was delivered a talk on “sustainable development goal- Experience of Andhra Pradesh” basically on implementation of e-Pragati in Andhra Pradesh.
  4. The Planning & Development Department, Finance Department and Centre for SDGs in collaboration with Centre for Innovations and Futures Studies and UNDP, organised one 2-Days “Innovation Lab” on 3rd and 4thOctober, 2016. The major focus of this program was to generate thinking process for finding out innovative ways to implement the flagship program of Government viz. CMSGUY (Chief Minister’s Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana) in line with the SDGs. The major focus of the CMSGUY mission is to double the farm income of all farmers by 2022 in the state. Shri Sarbananda Sonowal,Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam unveiled the SDGs vision document “Assam 2030: Our Dreams, Our Commitment” in the Innovation Lab on 3rd October’2016 wherein Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon’ble Minister, Finance, Planning & Development, Health & Family Welfare, Education etc, Shri Chandra Mohon Patowary, Hon’ble Minister, Industries & Commerce,Transport etc , Shri Keshab Mahanta, Hon’ble Minister, Science & Technology, Water Resources etc,Shri Parimal Suklabaidya, Hon’ble Minister, Public Works (Roads & Building,NH), Urban Development etc, Mr. Jaco Cilliers, Country Director, UNDP were also present in the function.
  5. A Regional Consultation on Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) related to “Human Settlement in Himalayan Region” was held on 14th & 15th December’2016 at AASC organised by NITI Aayog in collaboration with Government of Assam. Representatives from all North –Eastern States and West Bengal, all the important stakeholders including those from the concerned Ministries, academia, experts, civil societies etc were present in the Conference. Dr. V.K Saraswat, Member and Senior officers from NITI Aayog were also attended the entire proceedings.
